This is a unique opportunity to join RSPCA Queensland as our Wildlife Practice Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of our Wildlife Hospital nursing team, Eumundi Rehabilitation Centre, wildlife triage and reception function, and dedicated volunteer workforce.  Working closely with veterinarians, operational leaders and our Wildlife Transformation Manager, you’ll help shape and strengthen how our wildlife services operate - improving triage and intake pathways, building team capability and translating strategic priorities into effective day-to-day practice.

In this role, you will: 

• Lead and develop our Wildlife Hospital nursing, rehabilitation, triage, reception and volunteer teams.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation.
• Drive improvements to wildlife triage, intake and admission pathways to strengthen patient and service outcomes
• Partner with veterinarians, operational leaders and key stakeholders to implement strategic and operational initiatives.
• Use operational and service data to identify trends, improve workflows and support decision-making
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, clinical protocols and best-practice nursing standards.
• Oversee stock, ordering and budget considerations while ensuring compliance with animal welfare, clinical and safety requirements.

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
• Significant veterinary nursing experience, ideally within wildlife, emergency, referral or another complex clinical environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
• Strong operational management capability, including workforce planning, rostering and resource coordination.
• Experience leading change, continuous improvement or service enhancements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Sound judgement, problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A genuine commitment to animal welfare and delivering outstanding outcomes for wildlife.
• Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role, including animal handling and manual handling.
