Southeast Veterinary Oncology & Internal Medicine (SEVO Med) is seeking a residency trained or board certified Medical Oncologist to join our team in sunny Jacksonville, Florida.
At SEVO Med, you'll have the opportunity to focus exclusively on outpatient Oncology and Internal Medicine in a boutique specialty practice designed around excellent medicine, meaningful client relationships, and work life balance. There are no ER cases and no on call responsibilities, allowing you to focus on your patients and the aspects of specialty medicine you enjoy most.
You'll work in an environment where collaboration, respect, and excellent patient care are central to the culture. Every doctor works with a consistent, highly skilled nursing team, allowing you to focus on medicine while knowing your patients are supported by experienced technicians and staff.
SEVO Med also maintains trusted referral relationships with nearby surgeons, neurologists, and other specialists, providing patients with streamlined access to additional specialty care when needed.

In your day to day, you will:
• Manage oncology cases in close collaboration with internal medicine, surgery, neurology, and other specialty teams.
• Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans for patients with a variety of oncologic conditions.
• Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure safe, evidence based treatment practices.
• Perform and or order advanced diagnostics to support accurate diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring.
• Coordinate patient care and referrals with nearby surgeons, neurologists, and other specialty providers when additional expertise is needed.
• Support daily client communication, including treatment updates, medication and refill questions, and ongoing case coordination.
• Mentor technicians and support staff as part of daily oncology case management.
• Work with a consistent, experienced nursing team to provide efficient and exceptional patient care.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication and continuity of care.
• Pursue professional growth opportunities based on your clinical interests and goals.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team focused hospital culture built on collaboration, respect, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Florida.
• Board Certification in Medical Oncology through ACVIM or residency training in Medical Oncology.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
• An interest in practicing outpatient Medical Oncology within a focused specialty environment.
• A commitment to maintaining strong relationships with clients, referring veterinarians, and specialty colleagues.
