Pay: $1,763.20 per week
Shifts: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in Bethpage, NY. This role involves working in a large, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center that provides sterile processing services for multiple facilities including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, as well as emergency services for the area.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
- Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions, following department protocols.
- Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.
- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality, identifying malfunctioning items, recording related information, and promptly notifying a supervisor or biomedical engineer.
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
- Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
- Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) - must not expire during the term of assignment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year of certified experience with 4 years of SPT experience in a tertiary setting.
- Proficiency with STERIS Washers, Autoclave; experience with SynergyTrak IT System.
- Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, required; manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods of time required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions.
