Location: Bethpage, NY
Pay: $1,763.20 weekly
Shifts: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Seven Healthcare is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in a large, busy, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center in Bethpage, NY. This position involves providing sterile processing services for multiple facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers. Technicians will operate in a dynamic work environment where emergency services are also provided.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician
- Dissemble, clean, sterilize, and reassemble sterile supplies according to specifications and department protocols
- Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, and heat sealers
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from surgical and clinical areas for decontamination
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness and functionality
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels
- Maintain a contaminant-free work environment
Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician
- Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) - must not expire during the assignment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year with 4 years of SPT experience
- Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Proficiency with STERIS Washers and Autoclave equipment
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
