Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 11.5 hours Hours per Shift: 19:00-07:00 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience License: NH RN License or Compact License (Proof of State Residency Required) Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Chest tubes - Tubes and drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone - Lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients - Trachs and laryngectomies - Telemetry - Complex wounds - Care and maintenance of central lines and blood draws Description: This position is for a busy surgical unit that primarily cares for trauma patients and acute care surgical patients. The unit has negative pressure rooms that can serve COVID patients. Rehabilitating and supporting patient needs is the highest priority. Common diagnoses include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic injuries, and various acute care surgical conditions. Travelers need to have experience in a fast-paced medical surgical unit, preferably with Level I Trauma center experience. Several years of experience at a Level II Trauma center is acceptable. Patient ratios are 1:12 for licensed nursing assistants and 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night for registered nurses.
