**Our McKinney nursing teams serve a very fast-paced, high-volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity.Our PACU Unit: Great team with low turnover and many years of experience. The right candidate would want to grow in their experience if they were a newer nurse (5-7 years of experience) and seek out those with experience to gain greater understanding of practice. Don't let the community hospital setting fool you! Our McKinney nursing teams serve a fast paced, high volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity.
Patient Population: Inpatient and outpatient - some critical care as well
Number of beds: 14
Ratio: 1:2
Hours: M-F 7am-19:30, 8am-20:30, 9am-21:30. with call | 1-2 call shifts per week with 3-4 weekend shifts a month. Weekend shifts are Sat or Sun 24 hours. Must be there within 30 minutes of time called.
Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation)
$1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time
Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day)
The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.
Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.

Job Summary As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
Essential Functions of the Role
• Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
• Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

Qualifications
• A degree from a recognized nursing program
• 2 years of critical care or inpatient PACU required
• A valid Registered Nurse license
• RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS
