Description

Usability House, an independent human factors research facility in Minneapolis, is recruiting scrub (sterile) and circulating (non-sterile) operating-room nurses and surgical technologists for a paid, in-person research study evaluating an investigational surgical device.

In a guided, hands-on session you'll be paired with a surgeon as a two-person OR team and complete device tasks using cadaveric specimens in a professional surgical skills lab. No live patients are involved.

What's involved
- A short training session (about 2 hours), then a separate 4-hour hands-on session
- In person in Minneapolis, on select dates in November–December 2026
- A professional honorarium, plus coordinated travel for those coming from out of town

This is a paid research participation opportunity, not employment. Consent, NDA, and video-release forms are completed before your session, and the session is recorded for research purposes only.

Requirements

- Current experience as a scrub or circulating OR nurse (RN) or a surgical technologist
- Hospital or ambulatory-surgery-center operating-room experience
- Comfortable with aseptic technique and the sterile field (scrub roles)
- Able to attend two in-person sessions in Minneapolis in Nov–Dec 2026
- 18 or older, and willing to have the session recorded for research
- Able to complete consent, NDA, and video-release forms beforehand
