Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing or a related discipline, or equivalent terminal degree required for all ranked clinical track appointments.
Position Summary
The University of Georgia's Victoria Kay Ivester School of Nursing invites applications for an open-rank, non-tenure-track clinical faculty position at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor level. Rank will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and launch of UGA's new School of Nursing and its prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Primary responsibilities include teaching across didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings; maintaining clinical expertise; engaging in educational and/or clinical scholarship; and contributing to service within the School, University, profession, and broader community. The faculty member will also have opportunities to help shape curriculum, establish innovative teaching practices, develop strong clinical partnerships, and build the culture and academic foundation of a new nursing school.
This position supports the School's mission to prepare future nurses through excellence in teaching, evidence-based practice, innovation, and meaningful engagement with clinical and community partners. This clinical-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.

- Current, unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia
- Certification in specialty area required or expected within the first year of appointment
- Demonstrated productivity and evidence of an emerging or established independent program of scholarship, may be education or practice or leadership focused
- Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness appropriate to rank
Rank Criteria
- Clinical Assistant Professor: Demonstrates effective teaching and current clinical expertise, with specialty certification completed or in progress. Shows emerging engagement in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, or educational scholarship; begins disseminating and publishing work; and contributes actively to professional organizations, community partnerships, and School service.
- Clinical Associate Professor: Demonstrates advanced teaching and clinical expertise with regional or national recognition. Has a consistent record of scholarly productivity and dissemination, mentors students and junior faculty, and demonstrates leadership in professional organizations, curriculum, community partnerships, and School or University service.
- Clinical Professor: Demonstrates sustained excellence and national or global recognition in teaching, clinical practice, and scholarship. Has an established record of influential publications and invited presentations, provides leadership in national or global professional organizations, and contributes meaningfully to institutional leadership, broad community partnerships, and policy development.

- Demonstrated expertise in nursing practice and the ability to integrate current evidence into teaching across didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical learning environments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners.
- Knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning strategies, student assessment, and the use of educational technologies to support student success.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student achievement and professional development.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, educational and/or clinical scholarship, evidence-based practice, and service to the School, University, and nursing profession.
