Description
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive medical care to patients under established medical standards and practices. This role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses. The Nurse Practitioner conducts thorough examinations, develops individualized treatment plans, promotes disease prevention and wellness, and monitors patient recovery and ongoing health needs.
Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, the Nurse Practitioner orders and interprets diagnostic tests, recommends appropriate follow-up care, and refers patients to specialists when necessary. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and disease management plans.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic studies.
- Provide preventive care, health education, and wellness counseling.
- Monitor patient progress and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
- Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to established clinical guidelines, organizational policies, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- 2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Must have experience/knowledge of EMR system, preferably eClinicalWorks.
