Goodside Health is looking for compassionate, skilled Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our pediatric urgent care team across Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Job Summary
The Urgent Care Provider delivers high-quality, age-appropriate acute care to patients in the clinic urgent care setting. This role is ideal for a provider who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys same-day problem-solving, and is comfortable managing a broad range of walk-in acute illnesses and injuries in a pediatric population.
What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive urgent care services to walk-in patients of all ages
Perform focused physical examinations and rapid health assessments
Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries as appropriate to licensure
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and point-of-care tests
Develop and implement treatment plans for episodic, same-day care needs
Determine appropriate level of care and refer or escalate to emergency services when needed
Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Accurately and promptly chart and document all patient interactions
Communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, families, and team members
Mentor and train fellow teammates as needed
Deliver exceptional patient service aligned with Goodside Health's mission and core values
Travel to area clinics as needed to support staffing coverage
Ensure continuity of care, including timely follow-up for patients seen by other team providers
Respond to internal correspondence and monitor company email in a timely manner (24–48 hours, unless urgent)
Maintain regular, reliable attendance, which is core to quality patient care

Required Skills & Abilities
Exceptional patient care and customer service skills
Sound diagnostic and clinical assessment skills
Ability to communicate professionally with clinicians, staff, payers, patients, and families
Comfort managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced urgent care environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Adaptability, quick clinical judgment, and openness to new technology and process improvement
Required Education & Experience
Nurse Practitioners: current, valid, unencumbered RN license (state Board of Nursing), with the ability to obtain licensure in other states
Active national certification as a Nurse Practitioner (PNP-BC / FNP-BC) or NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants, per applicable licensing requirements
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner (PNP, FNP) or Physician Assistant
Strong customer service focus
Working knowledge of clinical procedures, HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA-Waived Testing
Preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not a must
At least one year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience as a provider

Full-Time position with a consistent, predictable schedule

Work Environment
This role is performed in an environmentally controlled office/medical facility. Providers regularly interact with a diverse population of staff, patients, and families, and may be frequently exposed to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a clinical setting.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift at least 20 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods
Fine motor skills and visual acuity, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Regularly required to stand, talk, and hear; frequently required to walk, use hands, and reach; occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch
