About the Opportunity
Joint and Vascular Institute is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiologist to join our rapidly growing, physician-led practice serving the greater Chicago region, including Libertyville, Rockford, and our soon-to-open location in Munster, Indiana.
This is a unique opportunity to practice modern, consultative, outpatient Interventional Radiology in a highly specialized private practice environment with a major focus on musculoskeletal embolization and advanced embolotherapy. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of post-training experience, strong clinical judgment, excellent procedural skills, and a willingness to travel between practice locations as the group continues to expand.
The position offers exceptional compensation, a one-year path to partnership, no call, no weekends, and the opportunity to help build one of the leading outpatient embolization-focused IR platforms in the Midwest.
The Practice
Joint and Vascular Institute is a physician-founded and physician-owned Interventional Radiology practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, minimally invasive care in the outpatient setting. Our model is built around clinical consultation, longitudinal patient care, procedural excellence, and direct collaboration with referring physicians across orthopedics, podiatry, urology, gastroenterology, women’s health, endocrinology, pain management, and primary care.
The practice has a growing footprint across the Chicago metropolitan area and northern Illinois, with established locations in Libertyville and Rockford and a new location opening soon in Munster, Indiana. The group is focused on building durable regional service lines in MSK embolization, advanced embolotherapy, venous disease, and other outpatient IR therapies.
Physicians at JVI practice 100% Interventional Radiology with no diagnostic radiology responsibilities.
Academic-Oriented Outpatient IR Model
A defining feature of Joint and Vascular Institute is its unique model as an academic-oriented outpatient office-based lab. While JVI operates with the efficiency, autonomy, and patient-centered focus of a private outpatient practice, it maintains a strong academic foundation through participation in multiple clinical studies, prospective registries, and outcomes-based research initiatives. The practice is actively involved in advancing the evidence base for MSK embolization and other emerging embolotherapies, with opportunities for physicians to participate in clinical research, data collection, protocol development, publications, and presentations. JVI physicians and collaborators are also engaged in multiple national and international conferences, helping shape the evolving role of outpatient Interventional Radiology and embolization-based therapies.
