Full-time nights Denver Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) as a full-time night provider.
This unique role bridges Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine, providing protocol-driven care for patients requiring short-term observation, treatment, diagnostic evaluation, and disposition planning. Working alongside Emergency Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help deliver efficient, high-quality care while improving patient outcomes and hospital throughput.

What You'll Do
Evaluate and manage adult observation patients following Emergency Department evaluation.
Perform ongoing assessments, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment planning.
Manage patients using evidence-based observation pathways.
Coordinate care with Emergency Medicine physicians, specialists, nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation, case management, and social work.
Facilitate safe discharge planning or inpatient admission.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient throughput and patient care.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an APP who enjoys caring for medically complex adult patients in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Hospital Medicine
Observation Medicine
Internal Medicine
Urgent Care
Other acute care or inpatient settings
Candidates with strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary care will thrive in this role.
Requirements
Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner
Colorado license (or eligible)
DEA registration (or eligible)
BLS certification
12-hour overnight shifts
Rotating weekends and holidays
