We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Advanced Practice Practitioner (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our dynamic inpatient team at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. The ideal candidate excels in high-acuity environments, demonstrates strong diagnostic reasoning, and is dedicated to patient care.

 Schedule & Work Expectations:

• Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week:
  • 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
• Weekend rotation: every 5th weekend
• Holiday rotation: 1 holiday per year
• No nights, no call!

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergent conditions, contributing to department efficiency, throughput, and quality outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop/implement treatment plans for patients across all acuity levels.
• Carry out procedures within scope (e.g., laceration repair, incision & drainage, splinting).
• Rapidly interpret diagnostic results and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
• Provide patient and family education, including discharge instructions.

 Your qualifications:

• Ability to manage high-acuity and undifferentiated clinical environments.
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced setting.
• Graduate of nationally accredited Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) Program
  • NPs should hold Acute Care or Emergency Medicine certifications
• Ability to obtain PA/NP licensure in Missouri
