Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to provide nursing support to the Ambulatory Pediatric Clinics in the Division of Cardiology. The responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, facilitating flow of clinical activities, and a variety of treatments to the assigned patient population. The individual in this position will perform a variety of tasks with some detail and have general understanding and skill in the application of work procedures. Work assignments generally involve patients in stable condition. Work includes the reinforcement of routine patient teaching and may include participation in orientation of students and other staff of the unit, procedures, and/or the function of the nursing assistant. All work is performed under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician. The person in this position has to have considerable knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy, ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complex therapeutic procedures, and ability to make accurate physical observations of patients.CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT.The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as its teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU Health.

Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require registration as a Nurse Aide by the North Carolina Board of Nursing, or certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA.)
