Description
Certified Surgical Technologist — Neurosurgical Spine | Masson Spine Institute | West Orlando, FL
Masson Spine Institute is a boutique concierge neurosurgical practice focused on cervical and lumbar disc disorders, led by Dr. Robert Masson — a neurosurgeon whose career spans thousands of minimally invasive spine reconstructions and decades of surgical innovation. The Institute is closely connected to eXeX, Dr. Masson's Surgery Intelligence company, redefining how surgical excellence is orchestrated and delivered in operating rooms worldwide. Joining this team means working at the intersection of hands-on surgical mastery and the future of surgical performance.
We are a low-volume, mature outpatient practice where the standard is excellence in every case, not case counts. We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist who is independent, adaptable, and energized by a versatile role that extends well beyond the sterile field.
Why this role is different:
You will work directly alongside an elite, highly experienced scrub technologist who is a dedicated mentor — making this an ideal position for a motivated early-career CST who wants to build advanced skills in minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS), fluoroscopy-guided procedures, and microsurgery in a focused, quality-first environment.
The role is also ideally suited to a scrub tech simultaneously pursuing advanced education (nursing, surgical first assist, or related clinical fields) who wants full-time stability. The predictable weekday schedule, no call, and built-in downtime on lighter days make it genuinely compatible with coursework in a way hospital positions rarely are.
What you'll do:
Scrub neurosurgical spine procedures, including minimally invasive lumbar and cervical reconstruction and microsurgical techniques
Set up, drape, and manage the sterile field for microscope-based and fluoroscopy-guided cases
Assist with epidural steroid injections and interventional pain management procedures, including C-arm/fluoroscopy support
Perform sterile processing: decontamination, assembly, sterilization, biological monitoring, and documentation
Own OR setup and turnover, inventory control, par levels, stocking, expiration monitoring, and implant tracking
Manage and maintain surgical equipment (C-arm, microscope, power equipment), coordinating preventive maintenance
Maintain AC boards and case readiness displays
Participate in facility safety visits and life safety overviews (conducted with Riteway) and support AAAHC accreditation readiness
Who thrives here:
A motivated, growth-minded CST who is independent and self-directed, comfortable with the flexibility of a low-volume practice where days vary — full-focus case days balanced by lighter days centered on shipments, stocking, and facility readiness. Someone detail-obsessed, with a quality-over-volume mindset, who takes pride in preparation and holds the standard when no one is watching.

Current CST certification (NBSTSA or equivalent recognized credential)
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
Current BLS certification (AHA)
Solid foundation in sterile technique with strong desire to develop advanced neurosurgical spine, MIS, and microsurgery skills under expert mentorship

Strong organizational skills; willingness to own inventory, stocking, and equipment workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience scrubbing spine, neurosurgical, or orthopedic procedures
ASC (ambulatory surgery center) experience
Familiarity with fluoroscopy and radiation safety practices
Operating microscope / microsurgery exposure
Sterile processing competency or CRCST certification
Familiarity with AAAHC standards and life safety compliance
