Kaiser Permanente – Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) in Los Angeles is the largest program in California for index cardiac surgery cases (~1400 cases). All surgeries are performed by senior cardiac surgeons with assistant cardiac surgeons. We are recruiting for both positions:
Senior Cardiac Surgeon
Opening in Los Angeles, California
Sign-On Bonus: $300,000
Position Highlights
Join a growing cardiac surgery team driven by increasing surgical volume.
High-volume program performing approximately two cardiac surgery cases per day.
Four dedicated cardiac surgery operating rooms, with additional capacity for future expansion.
Dedicated cardiac anesthesia, nursing, and perioperative support teams.
Self-contained ICU with 24/7 in-house intensivist coverage.
Dedicated cardiac surgery step-down unit supported by experienced nurse practitioners.
Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on clinical excellence and outstanding patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiothoracic surgery training program.
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery.
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered cardiac surgical care.
Team is expanding due to rapidly increasing surgical volume
Cardiac surgery has four exclusive OR rooms with two more available for expansion
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a completed an ACGME-accredited cardiothoracic surgery training program and be board certified or eligible in cardiothoracic surgery

Salary range for full-time openings is $650,375.00 - $980,955.00. Potential premium earnings are up to $184,860.00. Salaries are inclusive of incentives depending on skills and competencies and geographic location. Potential premium earnings are based on location. Annual Salary is determined by longevity with the Group and full time equivalent (FTE) work schedule/effort.
