Description
NOVA Arthritis and Rheumatology Specialists is hiring a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established Rheumatology practice with a six-chair specialty infusion suite in Sterling, VA.

Primary responsibilities include:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical examination.
Order and interpret blood tests and imaging studies.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with rheumatic diseases.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Prescribe medications and IV Infusion treatments.
Provide patient education on disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
Collaborate with rheumatologists, other healthcare providers, and support staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
Documenting appropriately and communicating with physicians promptly, including, but not limited to evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, billing
documentation, treatment notes, and other reports using the EMR system.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the EMR system.
Participates in clinic quality assurance, risk management, and compliance efforts.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1-year clinical experience in Rheumatology or Orthopedics is preferred.
Joint Injection experience preferred.
Must have excellent time management skills.
Demonstrate compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must possess excellent computer skills and EMR experience
Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment.
Knowledge of health and patient care regulations.
Excellent and timely communication skills - verbal and written.
Strong ethics and integrity.
Team player with a positive attitude, patience, and optimism.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Exhibits curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Requirements
Education:
Master’s or Doctoral in nursing and completion of an accredited course of study as a Nurse Practitioner.
Master’s degree and completion of an accredited PA program.
Licensure and certifications:
Active and unrestricted VA License as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with the Virginia Board of Nursing or the Virginia Board of Medicine, respectively.
Active DEA license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
