Collaborate closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-level care to patients of all ages facing a wide spectrum of urgent and complex conditions.
We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Care team in St. Charles, MO.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes an advanced-level of knowledge and collaborates with the physicians and multi-disciplinary healthcare team, demonstrates, initiates, and provides medical interventions in response to acute changes in patient conditions.
Assesses age-appropriate patients presenting for acute and chronic health events and obtains a personal medical history, appropriate physical examination and recording the resulting information. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic agents. Demonstrates the advanced-knowledge, communication, and critical-thinking skills necessary to provide care.
Plans patient care by making comprehensive, complex clinical decisions based on advanced diagnostic skills and professional judgment. Reviews results of diagnostic tests and procedures. Develops and implements a treatment plan for the patient and/or family providing a wide range of interventions required to effect change.
Performs acute and/or routine procedures.
Demonstrates proficient problem-solving skills by making competent advanced clinical decisions, utilizing appropriate resources, consulting with physicians, and involving management where necessary.
Applies evidence-based practices to achieve multidisciplinary collaboration to facilitate continuity of care and referral of patients to other appropriate community healthcare facilities, agencies, and resources.
Maintains effective methods of formal and informal communication with staff, so that dissemination of information and administrative decisions are conveyed in a positive and supportive manner. Motivates and supports staff to achieve department/contractual goals and operational benchmarks. Ensures timely and compliant documentation.
Responsible for ongoing professional development through competency validation, delivery of evidence-based care, and continuing education. Maintains collaborative relationships with the physician, advanced practice provider (APP), nursing, and administrative team.
Evaluates patient care practices and defines needs/problems with patient care to optimize patient outcomes.
Promotes positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and/or counseling.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Graduate degree from accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
EXPERIENCE
One year nursing experience as a nurse practitioner or two years registered nurse experience in an adult acute care setting
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT

Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration (Within 6 Months) Or Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State (Within 6 Months)
