The Cardiology Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The Cardiology RN will also facilitate the Cardiologists treatment plan and collaborate with affiliate providers. The Cardiology RN must also have the ability to triage and evaluate patient with critical cardiac complaints under the direct supervision of the cardiologist on call and via appropriately documented verbal orders.
Primary Responsibilities:
30% Clinical Activities
Participates in patient care activities and adheres to requirement of a Registered Nurse when providing direct patient care. This is demonstrated by:
Makes sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory
Develops and maintains collaborative relationship with all members of the healthcare delivery system
Considers needs of the department, preplanning, and proactive, making adjustments as needed
Medical Record documentation is legible, concise and accurate, timely
Documentation of charges is accurate and complete on the SR and Patient Flow Sheet
Plans for special items
Communicates all-important facts to Director/ Administrator, Supervisor, and Manager
Assesses and individualize the needs of each client and respond appropriately, utilizing available patient resources
Ensures specific appropriate patient education. Completion of consents and admission requirements Assume responsibility for competency of practice and takes initiative for professional development and continuing education.
Assesses and individualizes the needs of each patient and responds appropriately to patient needs. ➢ Directs all questions or concerns regarding medication, lab, etc. to the Nurse Supervisor/Clinic
25% Quality Improvement Activities
These activities are everyone's responsibility. Actively participates as evidenced by:
Understanding of the quality improvement process
Participates in Quality Improvement Team Projects as appropriate
Completes assigned monitors in a timely and accurate manner
10% Customer Service
Maintains active professional relationships with doctors/co-workers and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with the Cardiology clinic and its diagnostic departments... Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and courteous manner. Identifies opportunities to enhance the services provided by the Cardiology Department as shown by:
Positive patient & physician satisfaction
Reports all inefficiencies, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences to Director/Administrator
Serves as a role model to other staff
Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged

15% Employee Management
Oversees coordination of patient services:
Responsible for physician schedules, Lab Office rotation, Cath 1 rotation, and interventional coverage rotation
Responsible for coordination of specific roles in patient care with Desk LVN team members
Explains policies, procedures, and methods to staff who do not understand
10% Resource and Inventory Management
Ensures proper use of resources (time and supplies) as evidenced by:
Careful use of supplies and medicines to avoid waste. Reports to supervisor when supplies are low and need ordering. Documentation of charges accurate and complete
Keeps accurate time records
Stocks units with supplies/drugs as needed
Helps keep supplies neat & organized
Identifies opportunities to be more cost-effective and efficient
10% Regulatory Compliance
Complies with local, State and Federal rules and regulations and accreditation guidelines as evidenced by:
100% of regulatory concerns or unusual occurrences are reported to supervisor nurse within 24 hours of occurrences
When patient injury or disaster occurs, administrator is notified immediately
RN license and ACLS and CPR certification kept current and kept on file at the Center

Required Qualifications:
Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
Valid and current Texas RN license
Current BLS through American Heart Association
Critical Care, CCI / ICU, and/or Cardiovascular care experience
CRT experience
Proven ability to triage and evaluate patient s with critical cardiac disease
Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in nursing
ACLS
Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned
Outpatient clinic experience
Windows based computer skills and EMR experience
Good knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostic tests and medicines used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease
Proven ability to coordinate patient care across various sub specialties and with affiliate providers
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
