Description
The Legal Nurse Consultant Manager (LNC-Manager) is responsible to drive strategic growth for the consulting practice. This predominantly remote position combines advanced nursing knowledge, litigation support experience, and business development skills to expand client relationships, identify new opportunities, and deliver high-quality consulting services to attorneys, insurers, and healthcare organizations.
The LNC Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for legal nurse consulting services within the organization. This role combines clinical expertise, legal case analysis, and management responsibilities to ensure high-quality medical-legal support for attorneys, insurers, and other stakeholders. The Manager supervises legal nurse consultants, oversees case workflows, ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards, and contributes to business development and quality improvement initiatives.
The LNC Manager will refine the team's process to improve efficiency and hold team members accountable, as needed.
The LNC Manager possesses the professional skills and is qualified to provide LNC services at such reasonable times and places as necessary, or directed by company leadership.
The LNC Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow the consulting client base, including law firms, insurance carriers, and healthcare entities. The individual qualified for this role will demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients through outreach, presentations, and followup as well as identify market trends, service gaps, and opportunities for new offerings. The LNC Manager will create or oversee the compilation of proposals, capability statements, and marketing materials to support business growth, as well as represent the company at virtual networking events, webinars, and professional associations, and track leads, conversions, and revenue metrics to support strategic plans.
This role collaborates with leadership to refine service lines, pricing models, and branding.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Legal Nurse Consultant Manager must maintain a current state-issued license as a Registered Nurse, in the state where they are working.
Active RN License must remain in good standing in order to perform legal nurse consulting services on behalf of SAYAS Alliance, Inc.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree healthcare or related fields preferred
Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience in the practice of nursing. An additional 3-5 years’ experience as a legal nurse consultant is preferred.
Certification in legal nurse consulting from a recognized program or certification of completion from a recognized program specific to the role and responsibilities of the legal nurse consultant or other healthcare related field is required.
Understanding of hospital and healthcare operations and clinical processes required.
Self-motivated, able to work independently, as a member of a team, and collaborate with others.
Aptitude to work effectively with individuals at all levels within an organization and of various disciplines.
Prior supervisory or management experience required.
Experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced in working autonomously, managing multiple deadlines, and effectively managing a team in a predominantly remote environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, casemanagement platforms, and virtual communication tools.
Specific Requirements:
1. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
2. Strong knowledge and ability to communicate verbally and in writing on medical-legal principles and healthcare standards of care.
3. Must be able to work as a member of a team yet make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
4. Must be able to clearly articulate information obtained during a consulting engagement to the Leadership.
5. Must possess experience and the skills for critical analysis of healthcare records, medical literature and other documents pertinent to the evaluation and resolution of cases in medical case work-up, including the review of medical information to determine information relevance, interface with attorneys, and other professionals, working on medical malpractice, mass tort litigation inclusive of toxic mass, pharmaceutical mass and medical device mass tort litigation.
6. Well-organized, effective communicator with both the client, fellow consultants, and members of Leadership.
7. Honed analytical and assessment skills with the ability to communicate results both orally and in writing.
8. Must have working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and any additional applicable role-specific software.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Supervise, train, mentor, supervise and evaluate legal nurse consultants and support staff
- Assign and manage caseloads to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of services
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development planning.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for legal nurse consulting operations
- Facilitate team meetings, training, and professional development activities
Case Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Review and oversee medical record analyses, chronologies, summaries, and expert witness support
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of work products
- Identify case strengths, weaknesses, standards of care issues, causation, and damages
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex or high-risk cases
Legal & Clinical Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between legal teams, healthcare professionals, and consulting staff
- Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy, medical issues, and expert selection
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, including HIPAA compliance and data security.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with law firms, insurance adjustors, and healthcare contacts.
Operations & Performance Management
- Monitor productivity, turnaround times, and performance metrics
- Assist with budgeting, staffing forecasts, and resource allocation
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality
Business Development & Client Relations
- Support client onboarding and retention
- Take the lead with marketing, proposal development, and presentations as needed
- Represent the organization at legal, medical, or professional events
