Position Overview:
Position Summary
The Financial Aid Manager provides day-to-day leadership to the Main Campus financial aid team, ensuring students receive accurate, timely financial aid packaging and outstanding service throughout their enrollment. This role is both operational and supervisory - you'll manage staff workload and productivity, oversee critical federal and state aid processes, and serve as a go-to resource and trainer for Main Campus and local campus staff alike. If you know Title IV inside and out, thrive in a compliance-driven environment, and enjoy developing the people around you, this role is worth a close look.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support Main Campus financial aid staff, including approving timecards and PTO, managing the department calendar to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods, and monitoring team productivity against packaging and repackaging goals.
- Manage daily ISIR and import processes in Colleague, distribute the New Start List, and run repack reports for all active students.
- Oversee disbursement processes for VA benefits, state grants, MyCAA, and the KY National Guard program, and manage resolution of missing FA disbursements. Identify pending graduates and students dropping below half-time for required exit counseling, and cancel aid for students no longer attending.
- Process program and campus transfers in Colleague.
- Resolve packaging issues escalated by Main Campus or local campus staff. Train and onboard new financial aid staff and provide ongoing guidance to both Main Campus and local campus teams on Title IV programs and system processes.
- Assist with packaging, withdrawal calculations, verification, and other financial aid activities as needed.
- Stay current on regulatory changes through financial aid training, workshops, and seminars.
- Meaningful experience in financial aid with solid working knowledge of Title IV federal aid programs and federal systems including NSLDS, COD, and CPS.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, or a related field preferred - relevant professional experience in financial aid will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Colleague or a similar student information system a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communicator who can work effectively across staff, students, and multiple campus teams.
- Must have no history of federal student loan default and must be eligible to access all required Department of Education systems and websites.
