Key Responsibilities:
- Protect residents & report promptly: Model full compliance with Vulnerable Adult/Abuse policies and reporting procedures; uphold the Resident’s Bill of Rights.
- Lead compliant operations: Direct nursing services in alignment with MDH, CMS, and other governing requirements; keep department policies current and actionable.
- Management and Oversight: Ensure individualized care plans are created, implemented, and routinely reviewed; conduct/lead IDT meetings to complete accurate, timely MDS and care plans. Review nurses’ notes, medication passes, and treatment schedules to confirm timely, accurate care aligned with resident wishes and advance directives.
- Use data for improvement: Analyze incident, medication error, reaction, and infection reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Support safe transitions: Participate in admission assessments for appropriateness; coordinate safe, well planned discharges and external services. - Provide daily leadership: Designate qualified leadership during absences; supervise and communicate with nursing leaders throughout the day.
- Staff, educate, develop: Determine staffing needs; plan and deliver in-service and individualized training; run a strong onboarding program; document meetings with agendas and minutes.
- Foster a safe environment: Enforce adherence to department policies and proper use of safety equipment and lifts.

Education:
Required: Bachelors or better in Nursing.
Experience:
Required 1 year: Must have experience in rehabilitation nursing technique and geriatric nursing in a long-term care center, hospital or other related health care center.
