The UNC School of Medicine is seeking a 30-hour per week (0.75 FTE) Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)—to join the Department of Radiology at the rank of Clinical Instructor.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work across Abdominal Imaging, Molecular Imaging & Therapeutics (MIT), and clinical research within a collaborative, academic environment dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and innovation.
Position Overview
The APP will work closely with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while contributing to clinical research initiatives.
Clinical Responsibilities
Independently perform a range of adult and/or pediatric minor procedures, including:
- Barium swallows and modified barium swallows
- Upper GI studies
- Enemas
- Urinary fluoroscopy procedures
- Arthrograms
- Lumbar punctures
- Ultrasound-guided and CT-guided biopsies
Additional responsibilities include:
Supporting clinic visits for patients undergoing theranostics treatment within the Molecular Imaging & Therapeutics division
Contributing to clinical trials operations and research initiatives in collaboration with the department’s clinical research team
Work Locations
Primary locations include:
UNC Medical Center
UNC Hillsborough Hospital
Qualifications
Required:
- Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP) or graduation from an accredited PA program
- Prior procedural experience
- Research experience, particularly in a clinical or academic setting
