CAMP LOHIKAN in the Pocono Mts.

Camp Lohikan is a coed, residential summer camp located in northeast Pennsylvania. Our campers range in age from 6 to 15. We operate 65+ activities on a daily basis and our facilities are extensive. Click here for more information.
Camp Lohikan is hiring nurses (RNs, LPNs, EMTs) for the summer camp season extending from June through August. Employment is available. Employment is available for 2, 4, 6+ week periods. Doctors are employed for 1+ week periods. All medical staff members are provided private accommodations. Children of medical staff members are accepted into the program TUITION-FREE.
Camp Lohikan is a traditional summer camp for boys and girls of ages 6 to 15. We are located in the Pocono Mts. of northeastern Pennsylvania in the village of Lake Como. We're about 2.5 hours from New York City.

Nothing is more important than our staff and we know it. If you are a hard-working individual who enjoys children, you may be just the person we're searching for. Staff members must be able to put kids first at all times. It is also essential that staff members be strong role models for our campers. And because we're working with kids, we have strict policies in many areas including alcohol, smoking, curfew, etc. While it is preferable that our staff members have experience working with children, this is not a prerequisite.
Camp Lohikan has been operated by the Buynak family since 1957. We are a warm, welcoming camp community dedicated to caring for our campers and staff. Our goal is to provide an environment of support and encouragement where children will try new things and grow in the process. We are searching for individuals who are kind and willing to put kids first at all times.
The camp nurse is responsible for administering medication, basic first aid, determining when a child should be seen by the doctor, and handling medical situations.
Our health center is staffed with 6 to 7 RNs, a resident camp doctor, infirmary assistants, and a health services manager. All medical staff members live on campgrounds.
